The 1900s
Rolex was founded in London in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law, Alfred Davis. The first Rolex watch was launched in 1908 as an elegant timepiece with a small (for the time) 15.8 mm diameter, a Swiss movement, and a small crown at the 12 o’clock position.
