It is a thing that should not happen based on the average but it happens anyway and it ruins the portfolio. You can own a stock for and it can grow by eight percent every year and you feel safe.
You think the trend is the truth. Then a Sunday comes and the market gap-opens down forty percent and your trend is a lie.

A power tool is a physical manifestation of a financial hedge. You spend one hundred and thirty dollars on a brushless drill and you are not buying a motor and a plastic housing.
You are buying an insurance policy against a wasted Saturday. You are buying the certainty that a hole will exist where a hole needs to be. For the drill is a good investment and it performs the small tasks and it earns your trust.
You use it to hang a mirror and you use it to tighten a chair leg and it never falters. You stop thinking about the drill and you start thinking about the projects.

You have to ask what happens when the tool gets hot and you have to ask if the parts are replaceable. You have to look at aggregated data that tracks the long-term health of the machine.
You are not just buying a drill. You are buying the completion of the nursery. You are buying the peace of the household.
